The entire point of Cyrus' performance, and of "twerking" in general, is to strip a woman of all of her femininity and humanity, to reduce her to an object of raw animal sexuality, and nothing else. In the animal kingdom, this is basically the equivalent of "presenting". Even those who's entire lives have been dedicated to fighting for "woman's rights" in the destructive way modern feminism operates have a hard time swallowing this. So no, she is not owning her own body, she is giving it away and losing control of it in the worst way.
And also she is performing the mating ritual of a baboon.
